 Cassette decks differ from simple portables in having a stable motor drive, mechanisms and pre-amplifiers which will ensure that your dear songs are played back at the correct speed and fidelity as in the recoding studio. It does lesser damage your tape and lets it play longer and longer having a stable and precision mechanism. The preamps ensure that you will have your sound tracks and music amplified to the right input levels needed for the power amplifies to give you purity in music. Many of them come equipped with noise reduction features to ensure that you hear purer music. But the disadvantage with the cassettes (and not the decks) is that the frequency response is poor beyond 15Khz for metal cassettes. For normal cassettes this even lower. This should be acceptable to those evergreen category listeners which were available only in this format till about a decade back when the ACD made its entry into the market. So hifidemoroom recommends a good deck for the melody listeners who have those old collections and are crazy about playing them for longer as the decks can ensure that better..! |
